Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation process that historically has rejuvenated the skin by utilizing ultra-fine crystals to remove the dead and dying cells on the upper layer of the skin. At the same time, the hand piece of the instrument contains a vacuum tube that sweeps up both the crystals and the skin's cellular debris. This process of microdermabrasion also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which will result in a firmer, more youthful looking skin over time.
In addition to the face, microdermabrasion can be successfully administered to the neck, chest, arms and hands. Especially beneficial following IPL PhotoFacial treatments.
